Board of secondary education  odisha is known as bseodisha.It is a body corporate constituted under the odisha secondary  education Act 1953 .It is an academic body which provides varied  courses in order to equip students for different occupations to prepare them various university examination and various cultural purposes. 

Duty and responsibilities of bse odisha.

It's primary duty is to conduct high school certificate examination (HSCE) and gives certificate to passed students. It also regulates,controls and develops secondary education in the state of odisha .

It examines various teacher training programs or courses like CT  entraance examination,  cpEd etc.

Its main responsibility is  to conduct various examination and awards certificates those who successfully passed by the board.

Major duty  and responsibilities of bseodisha 

● To prepare courses of studies, Test books, Teaching materials etc.

●To conduct High school certificate examination (HSCE) and examination of other courses prescribed by the board.

● To publish and distribute/sell the books syllabuses, lesson notes,work books and other related materials.

●To issue certificates of examination conducted by the board and equivalence certificates  to the examination of other state board.

● To recognise the school for the examination of  the board.

● To make regulations for undertaking different functions of board.

● To take care of secondary education through. Orientation programs, refresher courses and other academic programs.
